Announcing Our New Kirishima Shinmoedake Active Volcano Hiking Tour!

We are thrilled to announce the launch of our new Active Volcano Hiking Tour: Explore Kirishima’s Shinmoedake!

The Kirishima mountain range is home to numerous active volcanoes, including Shinmoedake, Mt. Karakuni, Takachiho-no-mine, and Onami Pond. This region boasts a rich array of geosites and a unique ecosystem of endemic flora and fauna. The foothills also deeply reflect the influence of these volcanoes in their landscapes, culture, history, agriculture, and local cuisine.

Currently, Shinmoedake is at eruption alert level 3, prohibiting entry within a 3 km radius. Our hiking tours prioritize your safety. We will carefully consider the day’s weather and eruption status to maintain a sufficient safe distance. The tour course will be determined in consultation with our guests’ preferences.

Experience the heart of rural Japan on an immersive tour that combines culture, history, nature, and local cuisine. You may even witness volcanic plumes or small-scale eruptions – a rare and unforgettable sight for nature lovers and adventurers!

While public transportation in rural Japan can be limited, rest assured, we provide direct private transportation from stations, airports, hotels, and ryokans to the experience site. Our friendly local guides will ensure a safe, comfortable, and fulfilling journey.
